Mr. Landau graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, emphasizing accounting, and later obtained a Masters of Business Taxation degree from USC in 1983. He earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1988.
Mr. Landau began his career with Arthur Young and Company (now Ernst and Young) in the audit department, ultimately becoming a senior manager in the Entrepreneurial Services Group. In this role, he served a variety of businesses and individuals in the real estate, manufacturing, and service industries, providing accounting, tax, and business consulting services.
In 1986, Mr. Landau became Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Morton Capital Management and Affiliates, where he provided mortgage banking, investment advisory, and pension administrative services. This role further developed his skills in investment portfolio management, real estate lending, property management, and property development.
Prior to establishing his own firm in 1991, Mr. Landau also served in senior financial capacities for an engineering consulting firm and a multi-office independent escrow company. Currently, Mr. Landau is involved with tax, financial, and strategic planning for high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses. These clients range from professional services and entertainment companies to real estate property owners, developers, and contractors, as well as restaurants, retail, distribution, and manufacturing companies.
With his background in financial accounting, Mr. Landau also serves the financial audit and review needs of the firm's clients. Additionally, he has provided expert witness testimony in various litigation matters, including real estate fraud, business dissolutions, and economic damages from tortious acts. He has served as the chief financial officer for a theatrical lighting products distributor and a startup green energy technology company.
Mr. Landau is a member of the American Institute and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has held several NASD securities licenses. He has served on committees of various charitable organizations and is a past board member of The Accounting Circle of the University of Southern California.
