From week four of the lockdown, eligible workers will receive:
- An increase in their COVID-19 disaster payment income support to $600 per week if they have lost more than 20 hours of work
- Workers who have lost 8-20 hours, will receive $375
- To receive the payment, they must meet the criteria found here and apply through Services Australia
This payment will commence on:
- Friday 16 July for Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney
- Monday 19 July for the rest of Greater Sydney
- From 18 July, payments will now be available outside virus-hotspots across NSW
The Government has confirmed that the payments "will go on for as long as the lockdown requires" and is a taxable payment, so will need to be included on income tax returns.
