The Australia – Israel Chamber of Commerce’s ANZAC Trade Mission to Israel took place from 29 October to 4 November 2017, led by Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Chairman David Gonski AC and Commonwealth Bank of Australia Chief Executive Ian Narev.
A group of 46 Australian senior business and academic leaders visited numerous businesses and academic and cultural locations to learn about Israel’s exceptional eco-system of innovation and entrepreneurship, with a special focus on cyber and education, and to explore business and investment opportunities. The mission was held in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Light Horse Charge, and delegates also attended the Battle of Beersheva commemoration ceremony and visited the new ANZAC Museum.
The Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce has been facilitating trade delegations to and from Israel to help encourage trade and foster closer business relationships between Australia and Israel since 1989. Commercial outcomes derived from these missions include joint ventures, technology transfer agreements, academic exchanges, partnership arrangements in third markets, scientific and medical cooperation agreements between Australian and Israeli business associations, and an increase in trade.
